Most Sea Turtle Eggs Laid in the History of Port Dickson

We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in the preservation of marine life. For the first time, two hawksbill sea turtles have nested on the beach of D’Wharf Hotel at PD Waterfront, with the second turtle laying an incredible 169 eggs— the most ever recorded in the history of Port Dickson! 🐢🥚🌊
According to Licensed Turtle Ranger Hishamudin Abd Manap, this is the largest number of eggs collected in the area, and he anticipates that these turtles may return to lay more eggs in the coming days.
“We are incredibly honored that these majestic sea turtles have chosen our beach to lay their eggs,” said Andy Chong, General Manager of D’Wharf Hotel & Serviced Residence. “This event underscores our commitment to environmental conservation and the preservation of marine ecosystems. We are dedicated to ensuring the safety of the eggs and supporting the hatchlings when they emerge.”
The hotel is collaborating with local wildlife authorities to protect the nest, including setting up a secure perimeter and monitoring the site to ensure the eggs remain undisturbed. This rare occurrence highlights the importance of conservation efforts and offers guests a unique opportunity to witness the natural wonders of the marine world up close.

Turtle 2nd Time Arrived at D’Wharf Hotel’s Private Beach

We found the same turtle lay its eggs again at our D’Wharf Hotel private beach! 🐢🥚🏝️ We have secured the area and called the ranger to count and collect the eggs. There were 169 eggs in total—the ranger noted it was the highest number he has seen in 18 years! 🥚🥚🥚

Turtle arrived & laid 154 eggs at Private Beach
Sea Turtle Nesting: A sea turtle laid 154 eggs on the private beach of D’Wharf Resort Hotel, Port Dickson, marking a new nesting site. Hotel staff, including the general manager, witnessed the nesting process and are excited about this rare event. Plans are in place to apply for facilities to protect and incubate the turtle eggs, similar to other local conservation sites. The beach is closed at night and patrolled by security to ensure the safety of the nesting site.
